IRHS BPA is a 501(c)3 educational not-for-profit organization established with the goal of preparing students for success in a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills in association with the Secondary Division of the Delaware Business Professionals of America organization, and the Secondary Division of the national Business Professionals of America career and technical student organization.

This goal will be accomplished by providing chapter members with opportunities to:

  1. serve in chapter leadership capacities, and run for state-level and national-level offices in association with the BPA state and national organizations;
  2. establish and expand professional and personal networks by participating in technical education, community, civic, and social activities;
  3. receive recognition for service and leadership to the community via the Torch Awards program sponsored by the state and national level organizations;
  4. develop and apply real-world business skills in disciplines including banking and finance, business administration, information technology, management, marketing, and human resources management aligned with the Workplace Skills Assessment Program competitions sponsored by the state and national organizations;
  5. promote high standards for ethics, scholarship, and professionalism;
  6. build collaboration and cooperation skills essential to success in the 21st century workplace.

This organization serves to ensure financial support such that all members are able to participate in these educational enrichment opportunities regardless of their individual and familial abilities to pay.
